truck camper Truck Camper

Slide-in campers are available to fit nearly any pickup, from 6-foot pop-top versions for small import trucks, to large 11-foot units for full-size pickups. They range from units with minimal living accommodations to models with full baths and elaborate galley facilities, dinettes and beds for four to six, air conditioning and built-in AC generators.

Living space in a camper has been relatively compact, because even the largest units must conform to the dimensions of a pickup box. However, slideouts are being used in some models to dramatically increase living space and comfort.

For the outdoor person, the camper-hauling pickup can be purchased with factory four-wheel drive, making the combination ideal for back roads and primitive campsites.

Price range: $2,325 to $22,400
