At the very top of this group is an almost separate category of luxury Class A models, characterized by diesel-pusher engine configurations and costing from about $325,000 to more than $1 million for the largest bus conversions. These are the creme de la creme of RVs, but if price is no deterrent, they are incredibly luxurious and incorporate all the latest features.
Just below this group of highliners is a huge selection of units ranging in price down to about $50,000. Most units in this group are front-engine gasoline-powered models; the higher prices usually reflect the use of a diesel-pusher engine, although some have dropped below $100,000 due to the introduction of lighter weight, less-expensive chassis. Sizes for this overall motorhome category run from around 25 feet to 40 feet.
Slideouts are offered in virtually every model lineup. The driver's seat in a Class A unit usually sits high and slightly outboard of the conventional driver position in a car, with the windshield stretching the full width of the motorhome.
Class A motorhomes offer a great deal of luxury, both on the road and when set up in camp.
Price range: $49,900 to $1,324,000
