New luxury fifth-wheel from longtime motorhome manufacturer

It's no mistake that from the rear, the new Dyna Aire fifth-wheel looks like one of Dynamax Corporation’s luxury Class C motorhomes. With the same Dodge LED taillights as Dynamax DynaQuest and Grand upscale Class C motorhomes — along with the same recessed, lighted license-plate compartment, 6-cubic-foot rear trunk and shadowbox treatment surrounding the large rear bay window — the illusion is intentional.

Dynmax has carried the “Dyna-look” very effectively into the Dyna Aire, the company's first towable RV. Dyna Aire, as might be expected from a “Super C” builder, also has designed in copious amounts of pass-through storage with additional access from beneath the cabover. Two-color full-body paint accented by linear graphics is standard, while a four-color scheme is optional. Dynamax, in addition, will paint the customer's tow vehicle to match the fifth-wheel.

With a coat closet and system control panel on the right as you step into the Dyna Aire, the first thing you notice to the left is the island kitchen outfitted with Corian countertops, double-stainless steel sinks and high-rise pullout faucets. A hidden liquor cabinet that is part of the island is easily accessible from the living area furnished with twin Flexsteel Halo-leather recliners and an embroidered sofa sitting beneath the bay window.

Across from the roadside kitchen is a dining table with freestanding chairs that slides along a siderail to allow the seating pattern to be adjusted depending on one’s individual tastes. There’s also a hidden leaf to expand the umber of people who can be seated.

A driver-side entertainment center beyond the kitchen is made of raised-panel cherry wood, as are all of the Dyna Aire’s drawers and cabinets. A 26-inch LCD TV is the centerpiece of the entertainment center, which also converts to become a computer desk.

Among the Dyna Aire’s neatest features are the stylish Posi Lock pullers on the solid-cherry kitchen, living-room and bedroom drawers and cabinets that indicate at a glance whether they are secured for travel.

Also of interest — an electronic marvel, actually — is the Dynya Aire's multiplex lighting system that controls the dozens and dozens of dimmable halogen lights around the coach and also has an all-off/all-on” function at multiple locates throughout the trailer.

In the bath, the angled shower has a seat and a curved glass door to maximize usable space inside. The master bedroom is designed with plenty of storage for clothing, including a lighted cedar-lined, three-door closet running the pretty much the width of the coach that features full-length etched mirrors and plenty of drawers. A mirror over the bedroom vanity slides back and forth to mask a bedroom window and provide privacy.

The floorplan that we looked at had the optional 26-inch LCD HDTV in the bedroom positioned between twin overhead cabinets tilted downward for easy viewing from Dyna Aire’s king-size bed.

All-in-all, Dyna Aire is the kind of fifth-wheel that you would expect to see from a high-end manufacturer such as Dynamax — whether it’s a towable or motorized design.
